چکیده

Abstract Location-Routing problems involve locating a number of facilities among candidate sites and establishing delivery routes to a set of users in such a way that the total system cost is minimized. A special case of these problems is Hamiltonian p Median Problem (HpMP). In attempting to solve this problem, numerous mathematical formulations have been proposed. Most of them have in common that their descriptions as integer optimization problems are not polyhedral ones (ILP formulation). In this paper, an ILP formulation, based on the formulation of vehicle routing problem, is presented. The proposed formulation is simpler and more practicable than those have been proposed up to now.

The Hamiltonian p-Median Problem

We deal, from a theoretical point of view, with the asymmetric Hamiltonian p–median problem. This problem, which has many applications, can be viewed as a mixed routing location problem. An ILP-formulation based on a new class of inequalities (subtour number constraints) is presented. The associated Hamiltonian p–median polytope is examined, in particular its dimension and its affine hull. We d...

Exact and heuristic algorithms for the Hamiltonian p-median problem

This paper presents an exact algorithm, a constructive heuristic algorithm, and a metaheuristic for the Hamiltonian p-Median Problem (HpMP). The exact algorithm is a branch-and-cut algorithm based on an enhanced p -median based formulation, which is proved to dominate an existing p -median based formulation. The constructive heuristic is a giant tour heuristic, based on a dynamic programming fo...

An iterative method for the Hermitian-generalized Hamiltonian solutions to the inverse problem AX=B with a submatrix constraint

In this paper, an iterative method is proposed for solving the matrix inverse problem $AX=B$ for Hermitian-generalized Hamiltonian matrices with a submatrix constraint. By this iterative method, for any initial matrix $A_0$, a solution $A^*$ can be obtained in finite iteration steps in the absence of roundoff errors, and the solution with least norm can be obtained by choosing a special kind of...

PERFORMANCE COMPARISON OF CBO AND ECBO FOR LOCATION FINDING PROBLEMS

The p-median problem is one of the discrete optimization problem in location theory which aims to satisfy total demand with minimum cost. A high-level algorithmic approach can be specialized to solve optimization problem. In recent years, meta-heuristic methods have been applied to support the solution of Combinatorial Optimization Problems (COP). Collision Bodies Optimization algorithm (CBO) a...

A set-covering formulation for a drayage problem with single and double container loads

This paper addresses a drayage problem, which is motivated by the case study of a real carrier. Its trucks carry one or two containers from a port to importers and from exporters to the port. Since up to four customers can be served in each route, we propose a set-covering formulation for this problem where all possible routes are enumerated. This model can be efficiently solved to optimality b...
